My Experience
The way the world is designed, the social construct, it does not support mental health, or well-being in general. Everything is designed to make us think we are not enough, that we do not have enough, like we always need more. Fundamentally, happiness and good well-being is not helpful for the economy, businesses won’t thrive unless we feel like we always need more, want to be up to date with the latest trends and feel like we are left out. Therefore, we need to take our health into our own hands and live a lifestyle that enables us to have as much control of our mentee as we can, to have power over our thoughts and instead of feeling satisfied because we are ‘in trend’ or ‘liked’, we can feel at peace with everything and anything that comes our way.
Why I Write
I decided to start this blog as I feel like I can do more, more for myself and more for others. I pride myself on being loving and caring, and always being there for everyone. Yet I have an underlying feeling of worthlessness as I see all the trauma and pain in the world and yet I’m unsure how to make a positive impact during my time here. And as I struggle with understanding and accepting that others do not feel the same and are care-free or ignorant towards self-help regarding mental health and well-being, I believe that writing for you all will end this echoing responsibility as I hope this blog, and these articles will help someone in some way and open up the minds of those who do not respect mental well-being.
One thing I want to emphasise, and you need to understand before reading any articles, is that we all have mental health. We move up and down on the spectrum all the time, this includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. This blog is not only for those who are currently dealing with poor mental health, but for those who currently have good mental health and want to know more. I believe we should all be informed on some level about mental health in order to tackle the stigma. It is so easy for those struggling to feel alone and in an ideal world, if everyone experiencing a mental health problem could get both support and respect, there would be less suicides and more happy, healthy spirited people.
The Outcome
Throughout this blog, I intend to write from my own general perspective, on topics that I feel are important to explore regarding and surrounding mental health and well-being. My views are not facts, they are solely my opinions. Enjoy reading and I look forward to interacting with you all, feel free to drop me a message through my contact form page, I am open to any critiques about my writing and happy to be an ear for any stories you want to share with me.
Let’s end the stigma together
